With a passion to spread hope through his music, Josh Lopez’s powerful message of redemption and grace is permeating throughout the world.
Born in Puerto Rico, Lopez was one of six children when his family moved to Bronx, New York. Through a series of moves, they eventually ended up in Austin, TX where they found themselves homeless. After a falling out with his father, who was battling with a drug addiction, Lopez became a homeless 15 year old. He later decided to persevere and attended college in Puerto Rico. During his last year, he landed his first record deal as front man for the Latin pop group Jaquemate with Sony Records. After touring Latin America opening up for acts like Ricky Martin and Mana and having a number one single on the charts, Lopez came to a point in his life where he longed for true purpose. Lopez says that everything changed when He discovered God’s love for him…he decided to surrender his life and follow God’s plan and purpose for his life. With a renewed passion to spread the hope he had found, he received the opportunity to travel and sing with multi-GRAMMY Award winner, Israel Houghton. This led Lopez to also work with such noted artists as Larry Gatlin, Randy Philips from Philips, Craig and Dean, Martha Munizzi, Mark Townsend and The Response Tour. Josh travels all over the world inspiring people with his story through singing, leading worship and public motivational speaking.
